Antiparos - Area guide
Antiparos is a small island in the Cyclades, located just over one nautical mile from Paros. The main village is located on the northeast side of the island, connected to Paros by a ferry. The castle is the historical centre of Antiparos, dating from around 1450 and is typical of Venetian fortifications of that period.
The cave of Antiparos, known since ancient times, is one of the most beautiful and important caves in the world.
The best known places on the island are the seaside resort of Agios Giorgos, Faneromeni, with its beautiful beach under the chapel of the same name, and Soros, at the southwestern end of the island, which is known for its sandy beaches. Off the coast of Antiparos is a small island called Despotiko, which has beautiful beaches and an important archaeological site. A small paradise at hand, easily accessible by boat or kayak, it is an easy day trip.
Antiparos has grown considerably in recent years, attracting world-renowned artists and celebrities from various fields.
